What is Faculty Activity Report?
Faculty Activity Reports (FAR) are essential for performance evaluations, providing a clear summary of teaching, research, and service achievements from January 1 through December 31 of each calendar year. They help ensure fair decisions on promotions, tenure, and rewards by offering documented evidence of contributions.
FARs also encourage self-reflection, helping faculty identify strengths, areas for improvement, and set goals for future development. At Rice University, we use Interfolio to streamline the process, offering a central hub for activity data, publication tracking, and easy validation through Interfolio Data Service (IDS).
