DEPT The department reviews the dossier. The faculty vote.
The department requests letters of recommendation.
The department forwards the dossier to the dean’s office.
DEAN'S OFFICE The dean’s office approves and recommends an appointment. The dean’s office drafts an offer.
If the dean’s office declines approval, the dean’s office notifies the department chair so the department can consider a different track for the candidate.
The dean’s office forwards the dossier, the letters of recommendation, and the offer draft to the Office of Research.
OR The Office of Research approves and forwards the dossier to VPAA.
If the Office of Research declines approval, the Office of Research notifies the dean’s office, who will notify the department chair so the department can consider a different track for the candidate.
VPAA VPAA approves and notifies the dean’s office.
If VPAA declines approval, VPAA notifies the dean’s office, who will notify the department chair so the department can consider a different track for the candidate.
DEAN'S OFFICE The dean’s office extends the offer
The offer is accepted.
HCMI submits the iO action, attaching the dossier and the Dean's offer letter.
If the offer is declined, the department may consider other candidates and repeat the process for the new candidate.
